BEAVIS

Owner’s Name: Machan.
E-mail: Haruyukiferret (at) gmail.com
Address: Darley, Vic, Australia.
Date of Birth:
 05/12/2014.
Breed/Colour: Chocolate-Point Ferret.
Veterinarian: Bacchus Marsh Veterinary Clinic.

Gender:
Male.
Medical & Dietary Info: Beavis was neutered and has had all his distemper vaccines. He is currently a very healthy 2 year old boy and currently weighs 1410g, weight is subject to change. Beavis is on a completely raw Frankenprey/Whole prey diet. Since his birthday is unknown, we will be using his adoption date as his birthday. 01/09/2013.
Cataract in one eye: Cause Unknown. No Issue.
Chipped Canine: Cause Unknown. No issue with eating.

Additional Info: Beavis was a rescue ferret from Unwanted Fuzz, Ballarat Ferret Rescue in Victoria Australia. He was listed on a gumtree ad and was in terrible condition with a severe head tilt caused by a bad infestation of ear mites. He was skinny and had long over grown nails. Before he was at the rescue, he was being fed ‘anything’ which was a very unhealthy thing for an obligate carnivore. While in the rescue’s care, He was vetted and received treatment for his ear mites and was brought back to a healthy weight. His head tilt also cleared up. A week or so before coming home, he went for a vet check up over a suspected cataract in his left eye. After having his eye tested it turns out he had a cataract and will more than likely become partially blind. There are possibilities that he may become completely blind as he ages. The reason for the cataract was uncertain, it was suspected possible genetics however I still decided on adopting him. After a fantastic meet & greet with Haru and Yuki, He ended up coming home with us. All three are getting along fantastically and Beavis is a little sweet heart. He is still learning to be gentle at playtime, but he is doing quite well and is eating his meals fantastically.
